This course includes new features and functionality found in Sentinel 6.1.
Sentinel 6 from Novell automates the process of gathering, analyzing, correlating and reporting on security and compliance data to help customers identify and respond to security incidents and policy compliance violations. It delivers an integrated view of security and compliance events across the entire enterprise - integrating real-time information from devices, applications, identity and access management systems and physical controls into a single console. When a breach or policy violation occurs, Sentinel's built-in remediation workflow enables administrators to take immediate action based on roles, regulatory requirements and business policies - and creates a "system of record" to support both internal and external audit requirements.

Sentinel 6 from Novell helps enterprises:
* Reduce the cost of security and compliance programs
* Manage IT security risk more efficiently and effectively
* Detect and resolve incidents faster
* Improve reporting for both security and compliance
* Demonstrate and monitor compliance with internal policies and external requirements
* Focus limited resources on other critical IT and business initiatives

This course explains and demonstrates all functional aspects of the Sentinel 6.1 system and provides a workshop environment where operator and administrator tasks can be explored. Further, the course introduces the open architecture of the correlation, collection, incident response, and reporting systems, enabling the student to begin supplementing the existing system with new detection, business relevance, and reporting capabilities as new threats arise in the security landscape and new compliance initiatives are mandated.
