Course Description
The advanced Novell Cluster Services 1.8 training course teaches participants how to install,
configure and manage Novell Cluster Services on Open Enterprise Server 2 SP1 for Linux.
Participants learn Novell cluster architecture and and Open Source SAN technologies,
which can be used to build a highly-available, scalable, and easy to manage clusters.
During this course, participants learn how to complete the following tasks:
- Deploy, configure and troubleshoot Novell Cluster Services in their existing networks
- Provide highly available file services for users
- Configure applications to run in a fault-tolerant environment
- Keep critical business applications running non-stop
- Consolidate servers into clusters and improve the reliability of their networks
- Migrate from NetWare-based clusters to Open Enterprise Server for Linux clusters
- Use command line cluster syntax to manage the cluster and cluster resources
- Develop advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose cluster failures and keep clusters performing optimally
This course is ideal for NetWare Certified Novell Engineers (CNEs) and Novell Certified Engineers (NCEs),
as well as network administrators who want to use Novell Cluster Services to manage SAN resources and provide
high-availability access on their networks.

Special Instructions: Novell ATT - Online Training
Thank you for your interest in Novell's ATT Online Training. This online course will be conducted using the Elluminate eLearning solution for both visual and audio communications. If you've never participated in an online Elluminate event before, please make sure that you get your system set up prior to the start of the event.
Information on installing the necessary software is available at http://www.elluminate.com/support/ in the "First Time Users" section. Once at this page, credentials will be checked automatically (you may be prompted to download Sun Microsystem's Java Web Start (or OpenJNLP for Mac), which is a pre-requisite) at which time you will need to click on the Configuration Room link to complete the setup which includes sound, speakers, etc.. The installation takes just a couple of minutes depending on connection speed.
For the session you will use only your computer, a web connection, and your computer's microphone and speakers. If your computer does not have a microphone you will be able to participate through the session's text messaging feature. If you need technical assistance to set up your computer, please feel free to contact Elluminate's help desk at http://www.elluminate.com/support/ or 1-866-388-8674 x2.
You will receive all login information for the training the day before the event starts. You will also receive either a link for downloading the course materials, or the materials themselves in e-mail, depending upon file size. For ease of use in class, we'd ask that you please print the lab manual prior to class, as printed copies are not shipped for online courses. The electronic versions of the course manuals are made available in Adobe PDF format.
